A spring storm system mostly passed south and east of the region. However, a relatively narrow band of heavy snow moved through south central South Dakota during the afternoon and early evening, producing areas of significant snowfall. Amounts of 5 to 10 inches were reported across portions of Mellette and Todd counties, with up to 6 inches elsewhere from Bennett to Tripp counties.
