Dog Gun Lake Montana Mesonet measured a 76 mph wind gust and high sustained winds. Mesonet station MTBWG Browning, Mesonet station MTBRN Two Medicine Bridge, Mesonet station WETM8 Wetzel NE, and DYRM8 Dupuyer N Montana Mesonet reported high wind gusts and high sustained winds. Additionally, Mesonet station SHBM Browning reported a high wind gust.

Wider weather episode

A break down in the upper-level ridge brought strong mid-level winds and a strengthening pressure gradient across the Continental Divide. This brought strong surface winds to the Rocky Mountain Front, with these winds spreading out further east over time.
