Event narrative

Five inches of snow was reported east of Bruceton Mills, near the Maryland border. Two inches fell in the southeast corner of the county.

Wider weather episode

An extended period of northwest-flow snow showers occurred between January 7th and January 9th thanks to ongoing cold advection a good fetch of Great Lakes moisture. While snow totals through this event in much of northern West Virginia were light, reports of 3 to 5 inches were received from much of the higher elevation region, with around 6 inches noted in eastern Tucker County.
