Strong wind gusts from the WNW developed during the afternoon in the wake of a cold front. A tree was blown down on a house on Saunders Ln in Taylorsville.

A narrow line of heavy rain showers and embedded thunderstorms moved across western North Carolina during the morning in association with a cold front. A few instances of brief damaging wind gusts occurred with heavier showers and storms.
