A brief period of snow showers developed across the Piedmont during the morning in association with a passing upper air disturbance. Brief periods of heavy snow occurred closer to the I-40 corridor. Snowfall totals were generally one half inch to an inch across the area. However, some locations closer to I-40 saw as much as 2 inches.
