The offshore marine buoy 46029 reported 23 to 34 ft swells from the afternoon on Feb 24 through the afternoon on Feb 25. The high surf resulted in the United States Coast Guard closing the Columbia River Bar to marine traffic for almost 24 hours. This is a financial loss as 63 million dollars worth of commerce moves across the Columbia River Bar per day.
