Light snow combined with persistent strong northeast winds along the Northwest Arctic Coast to produce a short period of blizzard conditions at Point Lay (PPIZ).

Wider weather episode

A combination of low pressure in the Gulf of Alaska and strong high pressure over the Arctic Ocean allowed for several days of strong winds along the Northwest Arctic Coast of Alaska. Off and on blizzard conditions persisted for several days.
