After a brief lull, an intense band of lake effect snow with a multi-lake connection moved back south into Madison and Onondaga Counties during the early morning hours on Tuesday, the 18th. The lake effect snow continued to fall Tuesday night into Wednesday morning before dissipating and coming to an end as high pressure moved in. The heavy lake effect snow combined with the strong winds led to near zero visibility at times. Snowfall rates in the intense band reached 2 to 4 inches/hour.
