The AWOS at the Delta County Airport (KESC) reported a wind chill of -21 degrees at 8 AM on the 17th. The mesonet station AW433 Rock reported a wind chill of -20 degrees 9 AM on the 17th. The Delta County Airport AWOS reported a wind chill of -24 degrees the morning of the 18th. The mesonet stations AW433 Rock, MC036 Trenary MDOT, and 7361D Garden all reported wind chills of -20 degrees between 6 AM and 9 AM on the 18th.

An arctic airmass settling over the region produced some heavy lake effect snow and extreme cold conditions across much of the UP from the 15th through the 20th.
