Event narrative

An emergency manager reported large trees down and the post office roof was blown off. The public also posted pictures of the damage.

Wider weather episode

A strengthening and deepening mid-latitude cyclone moved into and across the forecast area. Two distinct vorticity maximums were placed over the forecast area as strong cyclogenesis unfolded bringing very strong winds across the entire forecast area including multiple measurements of >70mph with the entire area in a high wind warning.
