Mesonet station CGLK1 Cimarron. Recorded a wind gust of 66 mph and sustained speeds of 42 mph.
The wider storm
A strengthening and deepening mid-latitude cyclone moved into and across the forecast area. Two distinct vorticity maximums were placed over the forecast area as strong cyclogenesis unfolded bringing very strong winds across the entire forecast area including multiple measurements of >70mph with the entire area in a high wind warning.
