AWOS station KEHA Elkhart AWOS Site. Recorded a wind gust of 60 mph and sustained speeds of 51 mph.

A strengthening and deepening mid-latitude cyclone moved into and across the forecast area. Two distinct vorticity maximums were placed over the forecast area as strong cyclogenesis unfolded bringing very strong winds across the entire forecast area including multiple measurements of >70mph with the entire area in a high wind warning.
