Wider weather episode
A strong cold front pushed through the Carolinas during the early to mid afternoon hours on March 5th, eventually pushing offshore by early in the evening on the 5th. This brought a quick moving line of rain and thunderstorms to all of our waters during the late afternoon and early evening hours. Several embedded storms became strong in nature and brought enhanced thunderstorm wind gusts in excess of fifty knots, frequent lightning, and locally enhanced seas to our coastal waters mainly south of Cape Hatteras.
