Wind gust was recorded on a personal weather station along the shoreline of the Albemarle Sound as thunderstorms were moving through the area. Report came in via WeatherFlow.
Wider weather episode
A cold front extending northeast to southwest across central North Carolina slowly pushed eastwards through the afternoon and evening eventually pushing offshore during the overnight hours of the seventh and into the eighth. Along and out ahead of this front, a line of rain and thunderstorm activity was ongoing across western NC and the Triad during the morning of April seventh. This activity then tracked east through the afternoon and evening impacting all coastal waters. Strong wind gusts were the primary hazard within the strongest storms.
