Two school buses collided head-on in whiteout conditions, killing one of the drivers. Three other individuals were treated for non-life threatening injuries.

Light snow fell during the morning hours on the 7th. The fresh snow combined with strong winds led to blowing and drifting snow and whiteout conditions at times into the afternoon. Wind gusts as high as 50 mph were recorded at KRME early in the afternoon. Shortly before 3 PM, two school buses collided head-on in the town of Floyd on Rickmeyer Road killing one of the drivers. Three other individuals were transported to the hospital for non-life threatening injuries. The peak wind gust recorded around this time was 48 mph and local law enforcement reported that whiteout conditions was a factor in the crash.
