The peak wind gust was measured at the Kevin Court Weatherflow station.

Wider weather episode

A slow moving cold front moved through during the afternoon and offshore during the early morning hours of the 17th. A few showers and thunderstorms developed during the evenings hours over inland areas of Eastern NC. One storm became severe and produced wind damage over Onslow and Duplin counties. Later in the evening, an isolated severe storm came ashore and produced wind damage over Harkers Island.
