Light snow was recorded in a few towns in NWS, with a member of the public reporting two inches of snow in Mendota. The CO-OP observer in Memphis measured 1 inch of snow.

Wider weather episode

A baroclinic cyclone originating near the Gulf and moving by south of Tennessee, combined with a strong upper level jet, provided for two rounds of snow across southwestern Virginia.
