A low pressure system zipping to the south generated strong winds in its wake on April 13th. A peak gust of 62 mph was observed at the South Dakota Department of Transportation mesonet station 4 miles west of Trail City, as well as at the Remote Automatic Weather Station 11 miles south of Bullhead. The Automated Surface Observation Station at the Pierre Regional Airport would also see a peak wind gust of 60 mph.
