Light to heavy snow fell across Washington County, a trained spotter near the Unicoi line measured 1.5 inches of snow. A trained spotter in Johnson City measured 4 inches of snow. CoCoRaHS measurements included 3.3 inches of snow in Gray, 3.4 inches in Gray, 2.9 inches in Johnson City, 2.5 inches in Gray, and 1.8 inches of snow in Jonesborough.

Wider weather episode

A baroclinic cyclone originating near the Gulf and moving by to Tennessee's south, combined with a strong upper level jet, provided for two rounds of snow across East Tennessee.
