Event narrative

Light snow fell across most of Jefferson County, though a heavy snow report of 3.5 inches of snow in Chestnut Hill was received from the public. Elsewhere, 1.3 inches of snow fell in White Pine, 1.5 inches of snow in Blaine, 1.2 inches of snow in Piedmont, 0.75 inches of snow in New Market. These smaller reports only included the snow on the 19th. Additionally, an 8 inch tree limb fell and blocked most of Nick Thornton road near the Bush's Baked Beans Factory. This tree limb location is near the Chestnut Hill snowfall report.

Wider weather episode

A baroclinic cyclone originating near the Gulf and moving by to Tennessee's south, combined with a strong upper level jet, provided for two rounds of snow across East Tennessee.
