Light snow fell in Loudon, a CoCoRaHS observer in Loudon measured 2.7 inches of snow. The COOP observer for Lenoir City Utilities measured 2.5 inches of snow. Additional reports were 1.8 inches of snow in Lenoir City, 2 inches in Loudon, and 1.8 inches of snow north of Lenoir City.

Wider weather episode

A baroclinic cyclone originating near the Gulf and moving by to Tennessee's south, combined with a strong upper level jet, provided for two rounds of snow across East Tennessee.
