Event narrative

Light snow fell across most of the North Sevier zone, except for a report of 3 inches of snow just north of Gatlinburg. Otherwise a NWS Employee in Strawberry Plains reported 1.9 inches of snow on the 19th, a spotter in Kodak reported 1.4 inches of snow, and amateur radio reported 1.5 inches of snow in Dollywood and Wears Valley.

Wider weather episode

A baroclinic cyclone originating near the Gulf and moving by to Tennessee's south, combined with a strong upper level jet, provided for two rounds of snow across East Tennessee.
