Two bursts of light snow led to the CO-OP observer in Greeneville reporting 2.5 inches of snow, and a CoCoRaHS observer in Greeneville reporting 2.8 inches of snow. A CoCoRaHS observer in Tusculum reported 3 inches of snowfall.

Wider weather episode

A baroclinic cyclone originating near the Gulf and moving by to Tennessee's south, combined with a strong upper level jet, provided for two rounds of snow across East Tennessee.
