Event narrative

Strong thunderstorm wind uprooted a few trees, and snapped numerous large tree limbs in Sallisaw.

Wider weather episode

Strong to severe thunderstorms developed into eastern Oklahoma during the late evening of the 29th, ahead of an approaching cold front as a strong upper level disturbance translated into the Southern Plains. The combination of moderately strong instability and strong wind shear allowed the strongest storms to produce a tornado, and damaging wind gusts.
