Event narrative

Power poles broken in McComb. Damage was caused by outflow-dominant and approaching thunderstorms.

Wider weather episode

A surface cold front drifted southeastward across southwestern QC, the central Great Lakes, and southern WI during the early evening of the 27th through the very early morning of the 28th. Within the warm and humid sector ahead of the cold front, a line of multicell thunderstorms persisted east-southeastward across northwest OH and produced sporadic straight-line convective wind damage and measured severe straight-line convective wind gusts. These storms occurred in an ambient environment with weak to moderate MUCAPE, moderate to strong DCAPE, and moderate effective bulk shear.
