Winds across the zone gusted to 50 to 60 mph with the strongest gust being 61 mph near Briggsdale.

Strong gusty winds developed over the eastern plains late in the morning on the 14th and continued into the afternoon hours as well. Some roads were closed across southeast Colorado including U.S. 40 on Lincoln County.
