Winds across Washington County reached 50 to 60 mph including a 60 mph at the ASOS in Akron.

Strong gusty winds developed over the eastern plains late in the morning on the 14th and continued into the afternoon hours as well. Some roads were closed across southeast Colorado including U.S. 40 on Lincoln County.
