Event narrative

A member of the public measured 1.32 inches having fallen 1 mile southwest of Warrenton just before reports of flooding started coming in. All reports came from the emergency manager and all locations listed typically flood when heavy rain falls. Spots include: Highway O at Walnut Crest, Highway F at South Stracks Church Road, Schreckengast Road at Cedar Lake Cellars, and Highway J at BMC Stone Quarry.

Wider weather episode

A stationary front over southern Missouri along with ample mid-level forcing, moisture, and efficient rain processes resulted in flooding across portions of east-central and southeast Missouri. Numerous roads across the St. Louis metropolitan area were impassable due to the heavy rainfall.
