A maximum wind gust of 60 MPH was observed at the West Texas Mesonet site, 2SE Lamesa.

Wider weather episode

A quickly developing surface low pressure system over Kansas, with a fast approaching shortwave trough, pushed a strong frontal boundary across the Permian Basin. A few high winds were reported along this boundary as it intersected the dryline and weak showers.
