What EF0 means. On the Enhanced Fujita scale, EF0 is light damage: shingles and siding peeled, gutters torn, branches broken, consistent with estimated gusts of 65–85 mph. The rating comes from a survey of the worst damage after the storm, not from a wind measurement, so it says as much about what the tornado hit as about how strong it was.

What the National Weather Service wrote

The tornado developed in the town of Minerva where it caused minor damage on Minerva Tuckahoe Road. From there, the tornado traveled along T Wenz Road, north of Minerva Tuckahoe Road. Several outbuildings were destroyed along with damage to homes and farm equipment. The tornado dissipated over Lee Creek, west of Tuckahoe Road.

The wider storm

Thunderstorms developed during the late evening and continued into the overnight hours as a strong low pressure system lifted northeast through the Ohio Valley.
