Event narrative

The 911 Call Center reported numerous events in Fredericktown including water over the roadway at Morley St and Villar St, City Lake Road, Buford Boulevard, Highway Z and North Chamber Drive, the 200 block of East College, and North Main Street. Southeast of town, Route F was closed where it meets Route V due to flooding. During the event, up to 7.75 inches of rain fell in Madison County.

Wider weather episode

A stationary front over southern Missouri along with ample mid-level forcing, moisture, and efficient rain processes resulted in flooding across portions of east-central and southeast Missouri. Numerous roads across the St. Louis metropolitan area were impassable due to the heavy rainfall.
