Event narrative
A tornado touched down in the Apalachicola National Forest approximately four miles southwest of Bloxham Cutoff Road (CR 267). After crossing that highway, the tornado continued northeast across the forest and caused EF1 damage to mature pines on National Forest Road 360, Backwoods Jackson Bluff Road, and Sand Fry Road. The tornado weakened as it approached the Whispering Pines neighborhood where it caused minor damage to a roof and snapped some large branches. The tornado dissipated just before reaching Florida SR 20. Damage was consistent with an EF1 tornado with maximum winds of 90 mph.
