Pictures from social media show 2 inch hail in Garden City. Also at the same time there was video showing at least quarter-sized hail sent via social media.

Wider weather episode

A compact upper-level shortwave moved across western Kansas on 4/23. An associated boundary stalled in far eastern Colorado with CAPE values of 1500-2000 J/kg. The event started with weaker supercells that eventually transitioned to a messier and incoherent storm mode. The storms produced multiple severe wind and hail reports.
