Public reports of hail near Kermit. Hail was measured with measuring tape with several images of quarter to hen egg size hail stones. Time is estimated from radar.
Wider weather episode
A broad trough across the western United States and a dryline across the Permian Basin and Stockton Plateau resulted in afternoon thunderstorms. Several severe right-moving supercells occurred over the Stockton Plateau, with left-moving supercells moving across western portions of the Permian Basin. In addition, a localized dry microburst resulted in intense wind gusts of 100 MPH or greater near Midland International Air & Space Port.
