The West Texas Mesonet station, 2N Coyanosa, measured a maximum wind gust of 74 MPH. This was from a dry microburst along the dryline under weak showers ahead of an approaching upper-level disturbance.

Wider weather episode

An approaching upper-level disturbance would cause brief high winds and light showers along a dryline across the Permian Basin and Trans Pecos. Ahead of the dryline, severe thunderstorms impacted eastern portions of the Permian Basin.
