Broadcast media reported that five people were rescued by Miami Beach Fire Rescue and off-duty ocean rescue personnel after being caught in strong rip currents at Miami Beach. All five people were attended to on-scene and did not require hospitalization.

Surface high pressure over South Florida, with tight pressure gradients, kept the area under a easterly breezy wind regime. This brought gusty onshore winds to the coast of Miami-Dade County in South Florida, which led to strong rip currents on April 5.
