The Truth or Consequences Airport ASOS reported a peak gust of 58 mph.

A strong upper low was moving through the Great Basin with a 150 knot jet entering into western New Mexico. A deep surface low over eastern Colorado brought a tight pressure gradient across southern New Mexico bringing wind gusts to 80 mph along with near zero visibilities with blowing dust.
