Three mesonets observed wind chill or ambient temperatures of -35 or less, including mesonet sensor MTM37 19.9 N Zurich which measured a -37F wind chill.
Wider weather episode
Several waves ejecting from an upper level low near the Pacific NW coast resulted in periods of snow at times, with cold air filtering in from Canada resulting in extreme cold in northern areas. Overall the snow event fell short of expectations, but there were still a few locations that saw heavy snow.
