Several mesonet stations within this zone measured criteria ambient temperatures or wind chills, including mesonet station GW2112 Chester NW which measured a -38F wind chill.

Wider weather episode

Several waves ejecting from an upper level low near the Pacific NW coast resulted in periods of snow at times, with cold air filtering in from Canada resulting in extreme cold in northern areas. Overall the snow event fell short of expectations, but there were still a few locations that saw heavy snow.
