Two sensors measured criteria cold, including ASOS station KDLN Dillon Airport, which measured a wind chill of -36 F.
The wider storm
A cyclonic flow aloft, with several embedded shortwaves passing through it, allowed for several pushes of bitterly cold air to filter into the region from Canada in the early to mid February timeframe.
