Severe (D2) drought conditions persisted over the northern half of Arthur County through the end of February. The cooperative observer at Arthur reported 0.47 inches of precipitation in February. This was right at the normal of 0.47 inches.

Wider weather episode

Moderate (D1) drought conditions expanded slightly over portions of southwestern Nebraska in February. Across the remainder of western and north central Nebraska, drought conditions remained unchanged through the end of the month.
