Event narrative

Thunderstorm winds blew off part of an oblong hog barn's roof at 9644 North County Road 200 East.

Wider weather episode

During the morning of the 5th, a broad and deep occluded mid-latitude storm system with 980 mb central pressure, tracked to the northeast from far southeastern Wisconsin across Lake Michigan. Meanwhile an smaller-scale trough embedded within the system's cyclonic flow and following 200 miles behind the occluded front, crossed Indiana from west to east. Convective thunderstorms along this boundary brought marginally severe winds to the surface at the Delaware County Airport ASOS and in far northeastern Randolph County.
