A fisherman drowned after being swept out to sea Tuesday afternoon by a sneaker wave at Rodeo Beach in Marin County. A second victim was thought to be in the water but analysis of video footage confirmed only one victim went into the water. No additional injuries/deaths were reported and no known beach closures or damage were reported.

A fisherman on Rodeo Beach in Marin County was swept out to sea by a sneaker wave Tuesday afternoon with his body recovered at 3:30PM. The nearest buoy is NDBC46237 (San Francisco Bar) which reported a significant wave height of 7.2 feet and a wave period of 11.4 seconds at 3:00PM. The water temperature was around 54 degrees Fahrenheit.
