Quarter inch hail was reported near Randleman.

A southward moving cold front out of the Ohio Valley to southern Mid-Atlantic region combined with a weak disturbance aloft to produce isolated to scattered showers and storms over central North Carolina in the late afternoon and evening. The strongest storms produced quarter to ping pong ball size hail over the western to eastern Piedmont. A few damaging wind reports were also observed.
