Event narrative

Video from local broadcast media shows that at least a few large trees were uprooted around a DeMotte neighborhood, including two that fell onto houses. Location could not be determined by the video and is very approximate, likely on the north or west side of town based on radar velocity imagery.

Wider weather episode

A line of strong to severe thunderstorms moved across northwestern Indiana during the afternoon of the 30th producing numerous instances of wind damage and one EF-0 tornado in Newton County.
