A 55 mph peak gust was measured at KNGP -- likely associated with a wake low.

Wider weather episode

A cluster of storms in La Salle County progressed southeastward through the evening hours. These storms intensified and developed into a well-organized MCS with a maturing bow echo feature as it crossed South Texas. While the most destructive portions of the system were inland (particularly Alice to Petronila), marine thunderstorm winds were observed over the southern Coastal Bend as the remnants of the MCS continued eastward out over the Gulf.
