Hail of half dollar to ping pong ball size fell. The leaves of trees were stripped by the hail.

A trough of low pressure linked up with the sea breeze front to produce an isolated severe thunderstorm in the evening. Hail up to golf ball size was reported at and around Albert J Ellis Airport in Richlands.
