Two rounds of snow fell over western and central North Dakota. The first round of snow was due to an initial short-wave trough passing over the area, with the second round of snow due to the main long-wave trough moving over. The heaviest snow from these systems occurred over far south central North Dakota into the James River Valley. The greatest snow amount reported was 12 inches in the city of LaMoure in LaMoure County.
