The zone remained in Exceptional(D4) drought across the south and Extreme(D3) drought across the north in April. The Cliff Cooperative Observer reported just 0.01 inch which was 0.32 inches below normal.

Wider weather episode

Another very dry month across southern New Mexico pushed at least Extreme(D3) drought conditions through the region.
