Event narrative
A large branch fell from a willow tree nearly missing a home. Winds were estimated to be 65 MPH based off of the large canopy and size of the branch broken.
Wider weather episode
On May 10th, instability increased across higher terrain in southwest Idaho ahead of an incoming upper-level trough. This allowed for thunderstorms to develop across southwest Idaho. With a dry boundary layer and inverted-V soundings, thunderstorm wind gusts were the primary hazard associated with the storms.
